Hilton will open a 168-room property in Melbourne's northern suburbs, after striking a deal with Melbourne private developer Dealcorp
168-key hotel in Melbourne's northern suburbs, 19km from CBD
Hilton Garden Inn Bundoora is scheduled to open in the early 2021
Third new Melbourne hotel announced Hilton this year
Hilton plans to open a 168-key hotel in Melbourne's northern suburbs, after striking a deal with Melbourne private developer Dealcorp.
Hilton Garden Inn Bundoora will form part of DealCorp's $500m Polaris 3083 development and is scheduled to open in the early 2021. Bundoora is approx 19km north of the Melbourne CBD.
This is the third new Melbourne hotel announced Hilton this year and the 13th hotel in its Australasian pipeline.
Later this year Hilton will open a 244-room hotel in a $100 million Melbourne CBD development by Michael Kum's M&L Hospitality while a 600-room Hilton hotel is due to open in 2022 as part of Malaysian developer OSK's $2.8 billion Melbourne Square project in Southbank.
Hilton currently operates 27 hotels in the region, but has little exposure to the Melbourne market after its two flagship hotels were taken over by new operators and owners.
Its 396-room Hilton Melbourne South Wharf was rebranded as the Pan Pacific Melbourne in 2017 while the 419-room Hilton on the Park near the Melbourne Cricket Ground, was rebranded as the Pullman on the Park in 2015, operated by Accor.
