InterContinental Hotels Group is dropping its plans for its wellness experience “EVEN” brand for an under-construction 200-key Auckland hotel. Instead, IHG will switch the hotel to its new “voco” brand for the property at the corner of Albert and Wyndham streets.

Pro-Invest and IHG signed a new agreement to change the brand. Pro-Invest will manage the hotel under the franchise agreement with IHG.

The voco hotel will have 200 rooms designed around the “Me Time” concept, complete with an all-day restaurant and bar and a gym for guests. The voco hotel will be located in one of Auckland’s tallest buildings, a 37 story building in which Holiday Inn Express, another IHG brand, with 290 rooms, will occupy the lower floors and voco the upper half.

The hotel is currently under construction with an opening expected in mid-2021.
