The NSW government has rejected Star's plans for Ritz Carlton-branded tower in Sydney after reviewing its initial rejection
Proposed development for 220-key Ritz-Carlton hotel rejected
Ruled it would be "overly obtrusive" to the city skyline
Tower would have been more than three times the height of the existing complex in Pyrmont
The Star casino has lost a bid to build a $530m tower on Sydney's waterfront after a planning commission ruled it would be "overly obtrusive" to the city skyline.
The 66 floor hotel and residential tower was rejected by the Independent Planning Commission with locals complaining the 220-room hotel would obstruct neighbor’s views in Pyrmont.
The proposed six-star hotel and apartment tower would have been more than three times the height of the existing complex in Pyrmont.
